Low carbon rod is received by river barge, rail or truck from worldwide sources and is stored at our plant until ready for processing. The processing begins with chemical cleaning or mechanical descaling operations. Then it is drawn to customer specifications for size, grade and other properties. The drawing process includes two-pass and multi-pass machines depending on the final wire size. Mid-South can produce finished coil sizes of up to 4,000 lbs. The finished wire is then automatically weighed and bar-code tagged to maintain 100% traceability. Then it is placed in our temperature controlled warehouse prior to shipment.
A percentage of our wire is sent to our galvanizing facility for hot-dipped galvanizing. We produce Industrial Quality galvanized wire in sizes ranging from .072" to .250" in customer specified tensile strengths.
Mid-South Wire prides itself on quick response to customer orders and delivers on its own fleet of trucks via M-S Logistics.
End uses for our wire include a wide variety of end products such as fan guards, oven racks, closet shelving, paint can and bucket handles to industrial shelving. and wire advertising and display racks plus many other applications.
